Architecture is a very diverse field. From landscape, to building designers, someone who draws furniture layouts and even a person creating websites can all be tenants of architecture.
At Kaaterskill Associates, our architects work directly with engineers and surveyors. Whatever the building project, an architect is an important part of the design team.
Some of the things they might do are:
- Site Design
- Schematic Design
- Planting Design
- Public Presentations (For example presenting a project to the local planning board on your behalf)
- Site Inventory and Assessments
- Visual Assessments
Architects can bring to life the design you imagine.
Not only are they trained to create pictures that help you visualize what your project will actually look like, they also have the knowledge to suggest improvements, and enhance the design.
We also are experienced in restorative architecture.
When an old building is damaged and needs structural or foundational renovations but is worth saving our team plans a way to support the home while fixing the issues within and designing any desired additions.
The picture above shows one of our projects that needed a new foundation and had to be raised on stilts in order to be restored. To read more about the process of renovating this home click here.
