At Kaaterskill, the head of our architecture department is long time employee Mike Bliss.
On a warm Saturday afternoon, you will find Mike on the river. When he is not reviewing code, collaborating with our structural engineer or working on design plans, he is taking in the view from the Catskill Creek where it meets the Hudson River. Mike turned this hobby into a small business. He owns and operates Bliss Marina in Catskill, New York.
Mike began his professional career by earning a degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute. This led to a variety of jobs over the years. Of course he spent time in architecture but also developed his skills working on environmental projects and often works in conjunction with professionals in other fields, like structural engineering. At Kaaterskill, Mike works with many departments and is the only person in our firm licensed as an asbestos inspector.

Mike has over 30 years of project management, design and engineering experience in the construction-environmental industry. Some of those years were spent working on hands-on design projects. Twelve of those years have been at Kaaterskill. We are glad to have you, Mike!
